In the evening session of the School Sports Stars Turkey Swimming Championship held in Mersin, our 100-meter freestyle swimmer Demir Özdemir broke the new 14-year-old Turkish Record with a time of 00:53.04. With this rating, Demir Özdemir broke the oldest record of 34 years in Turkey’s swimming history, which belonged to Uğur Taner. Uğur Taner broke the record with his time of 00:53.56 in 1988. On the other hand, Demir became the owner of the new Turkish record for the age of 14 with a time of 27.76 in the 50 meters backstroke. Congratulations to our athlete Demir Özdemir and his trainer Tuncay Itri Vanlı.
