Fenerbahce national athlete Pınar Akyol won the gold medal in the European Throwing Cup


Fenerbahce athlete Pınar Akyol, who competed with the national jersey in the European Shooting Cup, won the gold medal in the shot put in the U23 category. Akyol thus became the first athlete to win Turkey a gold medal in Leiria.

The European Throwing Cup, where the best athletes of the continent come together in throwing branches, is held in Leiria, Portugal.

Our athlete Pınar Akyol, who won the U20 European Championship and the World U20 Athletics Championships last year, took the first place in the U23 shot put final with a time of 16.30 and became the owner of the gold medal. France’s Amanda Ntumba-Ngandu was second with 15.93, while German Jule Steuer was third with 15.81.

Fenerbahce national athlete Esra Türkmen will be on the track tonight at 20:25 CET in the javelin throw in the European Throws Cup.
