Our head coach Aleksandar Djordjevic and our player Metecan Birsen made statements before the match of our Fenerbahçe Beko Men’s Basketball Team to be played against Panathinaikos OPAP in the 34th week match of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague 2021-22 season.
Emphasizing that our team should increase its level of playmaking as a team, our Head Coach Aleksandar Djordjevic said:I’m sure we can find the motivation for this match by remembering the mistakes we made in the last 15 seconds in Athens and the way we lost the match. We had given the match to our opponent as a gift by making important mistakes there. Of course, I have great respect for the Panathinaikos team. Our opponent is able to combine the creativity of his short players with the close-round finishing of his long players, and this is one of their greatest strengths. They can play at high tempo. We must be able to respond to their crossing attacks and use our physical strength, motivation and playstyle to gain the upper hand by improving our organization. In this match, we need to increase our level of playmaking as a team. We still have players coming out of long-term injuries. One of our biggest goals will be to ensure that these players catch up with the rhythm of the match, as well as to win this match.” said.
Metecan Birsen said:Our last two games in EuroLeague and we want to end the season with victories. Although we were far from our playoff goal, we played well and won in most of the Bayern Munich match. We want to spread our good game against Panathinaikos over 40 minutes so that we can win.” he said.
