VakıfBank 3-1 Fenerbahce Opet


Fenerbahçe Opet Women’s Volleyball Team was the guest of VakıfBank in the first match of the CEV Champions League semi-finals. Yellow Angels lost 3-1. The sets of the match were completed 25-21, 25-20, 22-25, 25-18.

The return leg of this match will be played on Wednesday, April 6, at the Burhan Felek Vestel Volleyball Hall, hosted by Fenerbahçe Opet. The match will start at 19:00. The team that will outmaneuver their opponent will face the Italian team Imoco Conegliano, who passed the semi-finals without a match, in the Super Final.

Our Board Members Simla Türker Bayazıt, Mustafa Kemal Danabas and Bekir İrdem also watched the match played at VakıfBank Sports Hall. Mehmet Akif Üstündağ, President of the Turkish Volleyball Federation, followed this fight from the stands.

The first set went with mutual points. Fenerbahçe Opet, who made mistakes in the service reception in the last part of the set, finished the first set behind 25-21. Unable to make the start of the second set, our team fell back 6-2 in this section, although Vargas’ points narrowed the gap to 1 point, but could not gain the advantage of scoring in the remaining section and lost this set 25-20. In the contested third set, both teams played a balanced game. After the mutual points in this set, the Yellow Angels took a break from the home team when they took a 19-20 lead. Having increased the difference to 2 with Vargas’s serve count on the return from the time-out, our Team gave their opponent another time-out. Fenerbahçe Opet, who did not make any mistakes in the last section, won the set 22-25 and made the score 2-1. Fenerbahce Opet, who lost the third set 25-18, was defeated 3-1.
